It was a weird scenario, on the campus of a Lucknow college, when student leaders got infuriated after seeing the poster of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi posing as one of the contestants for the students' union election.
However, the students soon found out that the film unit of "Onkar" had come to their campus for shooting but the union protested and forced the crew, including stars like Ajay Devgun, Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor and Viveik Oberoi, to escape from the place.
Tripathi, the real life student leader, explains the reason for not allowing the shoot to take place. According to him, the film intended to portray Lucknow students as criminals and in a bad light.
Vivek is playing the character of student leader Keshav Upadhyaya alias Keshu Firangi and while others are playing the role of students.
Before the angry students could put spanner on the work of "reel" students, the Bollywood crew managed to shoot a scene showing Vivek Oberoi riding a bike in the verandah of the Arts Faculty building much like the rowdy students leaders of Uttar Pradesh behave. Kareena was also able to shoot a sequence.
Ajay Devgun and Bipasha Basu, who were also slated to arrive for shooting, cancelled their visit after coming to know about the rowdy behaviour.
Protests apart, the students even abused the crewmembers and threatened to hit them.
One of University's professor said, "The protests are not justified as the film crew had sought permission before entering the campus."
