The Indians failed to make much ripples in the swimming pool with all the three swimmers in the fray bowing out at the heats stage of the 15th Asian Games in Doha on Monday.
Ankur Poseria did something noteworthy by finishing first in his heat but the timing was not good enough to earn him a place in the final.
Poseria finished with a timing of 24.70 second in the men's 50 m freestyle heats while compatriot Virdhaval Khade completed his heats in the fifth position in the same event.
India's star swimmer Rehan Poncha also failed to qualify for the final of the men's 200 m backstroke event, taking fifth position in his heats by clocking 2:11.53 seconds.
Poseria, however, had the satisfaction of recording his best timing.
"I'm feeling good. It's not my primary event but I have got my best timing. I've got the 4x200 m relay coming up and I hope to win in that," Poseria said.
Khade said he was quite disappointed with his performance on Monday and had expected to do better.
