Fast acclimatisation to the conditions will be the key factor for England to succeed in the upcoming series, opening batsman Andrew Strauss said here today.
Speaking to reporters, Strauss said Test cricket is all about challenges and there is no bigger challenge than playing in India, adding that he has been working hard back home in England for preparing for this series.
"We learnt our lesson in Pakistan where in failed to adapt fast enough and we are working hard in the nets here to adapt as quickly as we can to the conditions here." he added.
The Englishman said they had roughed up a few wickets during the nets on Thursday and had batting practice to get used to the spinning tracks which they were likely to encounter in India.
The left-handed opening bat also said that it was important to get the momentum going early and they would be looking to do that in the two warm up matches we have before the first Test.
"This momentum can help us take the confidence into the first Test along with us."
Strauss said basically he worked on a few technical things back home, which he felt he needed to sort out in his batting.

{{/usCountry}}He also said that the balls used here would not be that much of a problem as "we had asked for these balls in England and were practicing with them so as to get used to them before we came here."
The SG balls which are used here are also more similar to the Duke balls used in England than the Kookaburra balls used down under and therefore that would not be such a problem," Strauss added.
