Doctors attending on her said she was in the intensive care unit and was now stable.

"Her condition is being constantly monitored. She is recovering now and talking to doctors and family members. Certain tests will be conducted on her today," they said.

The 65-year old writer had complained of uneasiness earlier and had been taken to another private nursing home last night from where she was referred to the nursing home specialised in dealing with cerebral and neurological diseases.

Goswami has been in the news for initiating the process of talks between the banned ULFA and the government which led to the formation of Peoples' Consultative Group (PCG).

The PCG had held three rounds of talks with the Centre in which Goswami was present but later the negotiations ran into rough weather with the PCG withdrawing from the talks.
