Due to inadequate garbage house and garbage bins, green belts and road dividers in the Trans-Hindon area are turning into dumping grounds. Residents of Indirapuram and Vaishali have complained about the problem many times, but in vain.

"The entire sector has turned into a dumping ground, thanks to the authority's negligence. Due to chocked sewers, dirty water enters the basement of houses, which can cause severe diseases," said BS Negi, a member of Sector 4 RWA, Vaishali.

Residents said due to the improper disposal of solid waste, stray animals on roads are a common sight.

Residents raised other issues such as pathetic condition of roads, traffic irregularity and contaminated drinking water supply, etc.

Residents have applauded the initiative launched by HT Media Ltd. HT has urged office-bearers of RWAs to persuade residents contribute old newspapers and books, which will be re-cycled to make newsprint and save millions of trees.
