INDORE DIVISION made the highest contribution of Rs 1404.45 crore to revenue collections through Commercial Tax in Madhya Pradesh.

Commercial Tax Commissioner P K Das informed in a departmental meeting that Madhya Pradesh has earned Rs 3,284 crore from Commercial Tax in the first nine months of the current financial year. The income is 17.08 per cent more than that of last year.

The meeting was held to form schemes for tax collection at division level. Commissioner P K Das asked the officers to collect taxes within the specified time period. The property auctions and luxury tax collection must be scheduled properly.

The revenue generated is Rs 976.84 crore from Bhopal division, Rs 48.82 crore from Khandwa division, Rs 114.75 crore from Ujjain division, Rs 58.54 crore from Ratlam division, Rs 184.53 crore from Gwalior division, Rs 159.15 crore from Jabalpur division, Rs 66.52 crore from Chhindwara division, Rs 224.10 crore from Satna division and Rs 46.30 crore from Sagar division.

P K Das asked the officials to make effective collection plans for the divisions that have generated less tax amounts as compared to previous year.
