An eight-month-old unidentified girl, suspected to be suffering from cerebral palsy, was found abandoned near the booking counter at Ghaziabad railway station on Sunday night. Government Railway Police (GRP) officials suspect that her parents abandoned her due to the illness. Some commuters spotted the baby in a cot with a feeding bottle and informed the officials.

"So far no one has come to claim her. We sent her to a district hospital and assigned two constables, including a female constable, to look after her," a GRP official said.

The child was later referred to MMG district hospital for immediate medical attention. "We suspect she has cerebral palsy and is likely to be referred for further further treatment," said Dr AK Dua from MMG Hospital.
