"Bangladeshis are now not entering the state," he said, adding government measures like issuing photo identity cards to rickshaw pullers, proper vigilance on the borders and barbed wire fencing had helped to check the menace.

"We have observed in the Tripura census report that its population growth rate is lesser than the national average, which shows that the infiltration of illegal migrants has declined," he said.

To a question, the Chief Minister said his government was examining the right to information bill and it will be soon implemented in the state.
