On Tuesday, S Gopalakrishnan, CEO and managing director, said the IT behemoth would not “pro-actively” pursue business with clients of Satyam Computer in the aftermath of the Rs 7,000 crore scam in Hyderabad-headquartered firm.

“Yes, some of them have approached us, but I don’t want to disclose numbers. We will deal with them case by case and follow the process of business development. We will not approach any of their clients,” he told Hindustan Times.

Earlier, at a news conference held to announce Infosys’ third quarter results, the CEO backed the Union Government’s proposal to bail out Satyam through infusion of funds.

“My personal view is it is only fair that the government is looking into the crisis as it is trying to protect about 50,000-odd employees. We welcome whatever is done to protect their jobs by the government.”

TV Mohandas Pai, member of the board and head of human resources, put in perspective the company’s decision not to act on CVs of Satyam's employees.
