"Early polls are inevitable as the Congress is in a desperate situation. Especially after the DMK, a key constituent of the UPA, has pulled out," the party MLA from Ellenabad said.

He also predicted possibility of early polls in Haryana, which are due late next year.

"Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress is keen on taking advantage of the INLD's top leadership languishing in jail," he said.

Abhey, considered to be one of the pillars of the INLD, however, said his party was prepared for both early Lok Sabha as well as assembly polls in Haryana.

When his attention was drawn towards Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's claim on transfer of Chandigarh, Abhey said Haryana would not allow it to happen at any cost.
