“We have ordered an inquiry into Monday’s building collapse incident,” said Romesh Verma, deputy commissioner, Palwal, adding that all the issues including the permission for construction, quality of material used etc will be looked into. A case under section 304 of IPC has been registered against Shabudin, the contractor, said SP Palwal Anil Dhawan, adding, “efforts are being made to arrest the contractor for negligence”.

It may be mentioned that eight labourers died after an under-construction building of the Sri Ram Engineering College collapsed on Monday evening.
