Insurance staff?s musical event

INDORE DIVISION Insurance Employees Association organised a musical programme to mark the birth centenary year of the late S D Burman recently. Harmony Parivar supported the event.

INDORE DIVISION Insurance Employees Association organised a musical programme to mark the birth centenary year of the late S D Burman recently. Harmony Parivar supported the event.

The programme began with garlanding of the portrait of Goddess Saraswati and a devotional song. Kailash Kalinkar and Niti Munshi presented melodious songs in the singing styles of S D Burman, Hemant Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar. The Sufi songs echoed in the ears of audiences and seemed to form an aura of peace around the venue.

Film music critic Suresh Gawde was the chief guest while Comrade Homi Daji was the special guest of the programme. P K Molari of Life Insurance Corporation presided over the programme.

Organisers Prakash Jain, Vasant Shintre, Subir Bharatiya, Rajesh Sen, Mahesh Sharma and Santosh Karre welcomed the guests. Ustad M A Khan composed the music. Deepesh Jain (synthesizer), Amit Lasurkar (tabla), Raju Pichola (dholak) and Paresh Rajput accompanied the singers with their instruments.

Sugandha Bahere conducted the programme while Rajesh Sen and Preeti Munshi proposed the vote of thanks.
