Intach to give new look to Farrukhnagar monuments

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (Intach), which is still coming to terms with the demise of its patron Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, has started working on the revival of two gates in Farrukhnagar village.

It has also planned to restore monuments like Sheesh Mahal, Ali Ghosh Khan ki Baoli, Shekhon Ki Haveli, etc, in the area.

Intach has started working on the revival of two gates in Farrukhnagar.

The organisation, responsible for protecting and conserving natural, built and cultural heritage sites and monuments, has recently received funds from the development fund of Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjeet Singh to carry out the restoration of monuments in Farrukhnagar.

“We have already restored Delhi Gate in Farrukhnagar. We plan to work on two more gates. We also have plans to start the restoration of Sheesh Mahal, Ali Ghosh Khan ki Baoli, Shekhon Ki Haveli and other monuments in the village,” said Atul Dev, convener of Intach (Gurgaon).

Dev said, “In July, I had written an email to Nawab Pataudi, seeking to discuss with him the organisation's plans in Gurgaon. He had, however, expressed his inability to meet, citing poor health conditions.” Dev said, "Even during his last days, he was full of vigour and participated in many activities.”
