“INTEGRITY IS the key to greatness, both, for individuals and businesses,” opined Caparo group, a $1.5 billion company founder Lord Swraj Paul who visited the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) during his recent visit to the city.
Lord Paul, whose prime interest for the last 10 years has been education and is currently the chancellor of two British universities-Wolver Hampton and Westminster evincing his keen interest, interacted with the faculty, staff, students and various other programme participants while on the campus.
In his message to the students, he said that the only thing, which helps one to tide over and win competition is integrity. Money cannot be the sole motive of business as even big names fade away.
Today’s youth are advancing fast, have great ideas and vision, and this should be harnessed as the country’s greatest strength. He said the pillar of success in anything has to be ethics and Indians should not find that difficult given their history and culture.
He also said that they are currently in the process of setting up an Institute of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence at his birthplace -Jalandhar in Punjab, which will be admitting students from the next academic year.

{{/usCountry}}On investment interests in the heartland of India he said the group was in the process of setting up or acquiring an existing plant and improving its infrastructure and technology. The plant probably turning out in Dewas would be developed as a world-class model.
Caparo group chairman and Swraj Paul’s son Angad Paul, who accompanied his father, appreciated the quality of interaction with the students invited them to be a part of the Caparo family.
Answering a question about industry-institute interface, he said there is a need not only for student internship but also for faculty taking up short terms at industry.
He opened the doors of his group for IIM-I graduates for obtaining practical on the spot exposure in various fields related to their industry.
IIM-I director Dr SP Parashar thanked Lord Paul and his son for their visit to IIM Indore as reflective of their immense love for India, and education.
