Apurv Mishra, a Class XII student from Orissa, is in the limelight for winning the third prize at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held at Indianapolis for his invention called ‘Glabenator’.
Glabenator, according to Apurv, is a fusion of glabella and communicator. Glabella is the area between the eyebrows. Glabenator is an “alternative and augmentative” communication device which uses movement of the forehead to control a computer helping those suffering from disability a way to communicate.
Apurv has offers from American universities to pursue his studies there. He also got an appreciation medal from US Army.
“I want to pursue my studies in bio-electronics after finishing school. Then I’ll decide where to go,” Apurv told HT. “But my objective is to do research on man-machine interface,” Apurv added.
