Police on Friday claimed to have cracked an inter-state gang of autolifters operating in the capital with the arrest of five persons in a West Delhi locality.

Twenty-three stolen vehicles were also recovered from their possession.

Virender Singh, Sanjeev Dahiya, Vipin Kumar, Ganpat and Maninderjeet Singh were arrested from near Keshopur Depot in West Delhi on Thursday on the basis of a tip off that they would be reaching there in a stolen truck, said the police.
During interrogation, the arrested persons named one Gulan Singh, a resident of Punchkula in Haryana, as the purchaser of stolen vehicles and a hunt is on to nab him, they said.
