Sources said his visit attains significance in view of latest round of dialogue with General Secretary of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah), Thuingaleng Muivah at New Delhi last month.

Muivah and his wife also visited Nagaland mainly to attend functions related to 30th 'republic day' celebrations of NSCN.

Pandey would travel to Dimapur, Mon, Kohima and few other places after he arrives in the state on April 5 mainly to accelerate the peace process. Details of his engagements have not been revealed.

R S Pandey, a 1972 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was former Chief Secretary of Nagaland. The government appointed him as interlocutor in February this year to facilitate talks with the outlawed NSCN (I-M).
