"I appeal to all peaceful nations of the world to be on the side of Iran in this hour of need so that the super power hegemony is not allowed to set its foot in the region of peace," Abdullah said in a statement on Friday.

He alleged that oil prices have risen tremendously after America's intervention in Iraq, and the economy of the entire belt will be hit and masses will lose purchasing power if Iran's sovereignty is harmed.

He said that Iran as an independent country had every right to build up its economy and nuclear capability for peaceful purposes. The country is rich in mineral wealth and has every right to look into its own needs.
