The Pakistan government has confirmed that the Interpol is considering issuing arrest warrants against former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Asif Zardari.

Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said the government has requested the secretary general of Interpol to issue arrest warrants for the duo for their alleged involvement in corruption and other irregularities, reports Online news agency.

There are ten cases pending with the National Accountability Bureau against Pakistan People's Party president Benazir and Zardari.
