Institute director Dr RP Singh took the decision in this regard.

However, not satisfied with the decision, agitating members of the HBTI Teachers’ Association held a general body meeting on to discuss the issue. But most of them were not clear over a final strategy for opposing the two-phased interviews. While a section suggested that they should accept the decision of the director, others favoured initiating preliminary protests until proof of holding interviews simultaneously was received.

Talking to the HT, Singh said the advertisement was given for filling up all fresh and promotional posts. It was, however, decided that best candidates would be selected after their academic skills were assessed thoroughly. Since this process was time-taking, it was decided that the interviews would be held in two phases, he said. However, the decision had left some confusion and now the new dates were final, he added.

Association members had opposed the two-phased interviews and had asked that they should be done simultaneously on the three days.
