Former Pakistani skipper Intikhab Alam on Wednesday slammed captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and coach Bob Woolmer, saying they lacked clear focus as they were still fiddling with the team in their bid to be successful.

"In my view, they are still looking for the right combination. They are fiddling with combinations in the hope that something would click. That's not the way to go about it," Alam said.
"You need to have a clear focus on your line of action," said Alam, who is presently coaching the Punjab Ranji Trophy team and is based in Mohali.
The former cricketer was also critical of the team's choice to play vice-captain Younis Khan at number three position in the first cricket Test against India.
"In my opinion, on this wicket and the movement it afforded, a batsman has to be very good technically to survive the conditions. I would have liked Asim Kamal to come at the pivotal number three spot."
Younis Khan scored only nine runs while Asim Kamal was instrumental in pushing Pakistan to 312 with a well-crafted 91.

Alam, a famous leg-spinner in his own time, looked forward to watching young Danish Kaneria in action.
"He is a very talented player but I would like him to bowl more side on. At the moment, he is a front-on kind of bowler.
"He and Anil Kumble are different in the respect that he spins a bit more than the Indian match-winner. But he has the temperament to be an extremely good leg-spinner in years to come," Alam said.
