On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) based militant amalgamate, United Jehad Council (UJC), warned of "Iraq and Afghanistan-like situation in the state".
"India will meet the same shameful defeat in Kashmir as Soviet Union and Americans met in Afghanistan. Similarly, as the US and its supporters met in Iraq," said UJC secretary general Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman in an emailed statement to the Hindustan Times.
The threat mail of the UJC, which is an umbrella organisation of more than 13 militant outfits operating in the state including Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba, coincides with Modi's maiden visit to the state as Prime Minister to inaugurate the railway network in Jammu and a power project in Kashmir on Friday.
Rehmaan said Modi's visit to Kashmir is aimed at "imposing Hindutva agenda on people of the Valley" and "snatch the resources of the state".
"India is snatching away resources of Kashmir. While people of the Valley witness darkness, the electricity is looted and used to light up people of India," he said.
He also accused the Valley-based mainstream political parties of "conniving with Delhi to retain their power and chair in lieu to the handing over of the resources of Kashmir".
