Faced with imminent arrest for the alleged sexual assault of a junior colleague in Goa, Tehelka co-founder Tarun Tejpal seems to be squirming under the pressure.
In his petition, filed through law firm Karanjawala and Co., Tejpal alleged that the registration of an FIR and the pursuant investigation by the Goa police was a result of the BJP's political vendetta to satisfy a "long standing grudge" against him for the investigative journalism done by Tehelka against the BJP.
A poll conducted by the Hindustan Times, sought the views of the readers on whether they agreed with Tejpal's claim of a political conspiracy behind the sexual assault case. While a majority of voters believed Tejpal's allegation to be false, there were some who thought he is telling the truth. Here are the results.
