Several large explosions rocked the southern suburb of Beirut, heavily hit due to 27 days of fighting.

Israeli jets pounded a southern suburb of Beirut, a stronghold of the Hezbollah guerrilla group, on Monday, witnesses said.

Several large explosions echoed through the city and black smoke could be seen rising from the area which has been heavily hit in 27 days of fighting.
