The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has urged the scientists to take up the challenge of the next mission after Chandrayaan-1, which could include a spacecraft to Mars, or an asteroid or a comet.
Talking to reporters on the occasion of National Technology Day at Bhabha Atomic Research Centres in Mumbai on Friday, Dr JN Goswami, the Director of Physical Research Laboratory at Ahmedabad and Principal scientist, Indian Mission to Moon (Chandrayaan-1) said, "We have to make the decisions regarding the next planetary mission in six-seven months."
He also said the raw data that would be given by Chandrayaan-1 would be collected at National Space Science Data Centre at Bangalore and later would be distributed to other collaborators.
The total expenditure of Chandrayaan-1 would be around Rs 300 crore, he said.
