Andhra Pradesh Congress President D Srinivas said the exit poll results have further strengthened the optimism of Congress that it would form the government in Andhra Pradesh.

Participating in a 'meet the press' programme at local press club here during his poll campaign, Srinivas said people in the state were determined to bring Congress to power 'as they were fed up with the TDP rule'.

He said, "since diesel oil, petrol, gas cylinders and essential commodity prices are not within the reach of the common man, they have no other goal than to change the government".

The first phase of exit polls have indicated that Congress was expected to get 76 seats.

He alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, was leading the state under the 'dictats' of the World Bank 'to plunge the state into debts'.

If Congress takes over the reins of the state, the World Bank loans would be reviewed, he said.
