RAINFALL ON Saturday afternoon brought relief to the citizens who were facing quite uncomfortable weather for about two weeks. The rains cooled down the hot weather and made the evening quite pleasant.
However, the forenoon remained quite humid and uncomfortable and the temperature touched the 32-degree mark. In the afternoon, however, dense clouds gathered and moderate rains were experienced in the City for quite some time.
Between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm on Saturday, the city recorded 5.2 mm of rains. During the last 24 ours, the City has recorded 3.8 mm of rains.
Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Director D P Dubey said that the rainfall being experienced in the City and some other parts of the State were local activities owing to the moisture feeding by the two weather systems present on Maharashtra and the AP coast.
The AP coast system has now intensified into low-pressure system and is expected to affect the State by September 18, when more intense rainfall activity might be experienced.
