It’s time for them to mend their ways
The attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul points the needle of suspicion at Pakistan. The recent spurt in State-sponsored terrorism proves that Pakistan is a threat to other countries. There’s enough proof that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistani army are involved in the various terrorist attacks across the globe. If the international community doesn’t put pressure on Pakistan now, it will lead to many more terrorist strikes.

Eye for an eye...
The government’s plan to launch a large-scale military operation against Naxals will lead to collateral damage (Anti-Naxal offensive to begin in 11 places, October 10). Though the insurgents’ acts of beheading a police inspector and killing 17 security personnel are condemnable. But violence will not solve the problem. The government should insist on a peaceful dialogue with Naxals.

The editorial The need to recapture India (Our Take, October 9) rightly stated that the problem of Naxalism has gone out of hand because it was being ignored all this while. The military offensive against Naxals, which the government is planning, is only a way to cover up its inability to cater to the people of Naxal-hit areas.
