Nishad’s death had caused an uproar on Tuesday.

A Press note issued by the public relations officer to the senior superintendent of police said Nishad was admitted to the Nephrology Department of Preeti Hospital due to kidney problems and was treated by Dr AK Gupta.

In the death certificate, the hospital also indicated the above reason as the cause of Nishad’s death.

He was a relative of two brothers who had recently set ablaze five members of a family in Sadiabad locality.

On the other hand, the autopsy report showed septecimia as the cause of death.

Both the police version and the autopsy report were countered by Sunil Nishad, husband of deputy mayor Anamika Choudhary.

“When they can change the autopsy report of Raju Pal, they can do anything,” he said, accusing the police of doctoring the report.

Nishad’s son had accused the Kareilly station officer and some other policemen of beating Dilip to death during interrogation.

An FIR against the police personnel was lodged following the intervention of the senior superintendent of police when Daraganj residents staged a demonstration and put up a roadblock in Allahabad on Tuesday.
