"This is not a place where you are supposed to hoist flags of your parties and let your members jump in the well of the house. I hold the people involved, that includes MLA Jagdish Raj Spolia, in contempt of the house and direct the secretariat to start an inquiry against the member," said assembly speaker Muhammad Akbar Lone, after preliminary investigation established the workers of Spolia's new party.

Three young men jumped onto the floor of assembly around 10:30 in the morning, triggering chaos and a rough chase from marshals.

Chief minister Omar Abdullah was present when the incident occurred. He tried to direct the marshals not to beat the youth but the CM's intervention failed to pacify security personnel.

The government is denying any breach of security as the boys made entry on valid passes.
