J-K BJP nominates 13 women to working committee

J-K BJP has nominated 13 women for the party's state working committee in consonance with its decision to grant 33 per cent reservation to women in the organisational set up.

J-K BJP has nominated 13 women for the party's state working committee in consonance with its decision to grant 33 per cent reservation to women in the organisational set up.

"This step has been taken as party's commitment to give due representation to women in the organisational set-ups throughout the state", Ashok Khajuria, state BJP president said on.

The party will also ensure that due representation is given to women for elections in corporations, panchayats and state legislature, he said.

With these nominations, strength of the women in the party's state working committee has risen to nearly 20, he said, adding more nominations would be made later to ensure their 33 per cent reservation.

The present strength of the working committee is 125.

Khajuria also nominated Rajesh gupta, Chanderkanta and Nirmal Kamal as state vice-presidents. Vishwinder Dev Sharma and Satwant Kour were nominated as state secretaries while Mohan Singh Chauhan was nominated as spokesperson.
