The pro-poor budget would be passed soon after approval of state plan by the Centre, Rather said after laying the foundation stone double-lane bridge over Doodganga stream at Badipora-Sogam.

Rather said the government will focus on speedy infrastructure development in all critical sectors like power, agriculture and horticulture to spur economic growth in the state.

The state Budget could not be passed in view of General Elections in the country. It is likely to be presented in July.
Referring to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's assurance to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah regarding developing J&K as a model state, the Finance Minister said the state will witness all-round development in the coming years.
