J&K Highway closed after snowfall

The Jammu Srinagar National Highway, the only surface link between Kashmir and rest of the country, was closed for traffic on Friday owing to heavy snowfall.

The Highway was blocked due to heavy snow at Jawahir tunnel and Patnitop Besides the road also became slippery at several places in Ramban Banihal belt, traffic police officials said.

Over 1200 vehicles have been stranded at several places on the Highway and the BRO is trying to clear the Highway of snow.
