Army and Police launched a search operation in Haphruda forests of Kupwara on May 5 following information about a militant hideout in the area, a defence spokesman said on Friday.

He said the security forces on Thursday found a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.

The recoveries included one pistol, three magazines, 12 Chinese grenades, two binoculars, two compasses, three rounds of RPG, two 60mm bombs, one wireless set and other administrative stores.
