J-K: 1 militant killed, two jawans injured in Baramulla encounter
One militant was killed and two jawans were injured in an ongoing encounter in Kunzer area of Tangmarg, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
One militant was killed and two jawans were injured early on Wednesday morning in an ongoing encounter in Bongam, Kunzer area of Tangmarg, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to a police spokesperson, the encounter began after militants were found during a search operation conducted jointly by the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Army’s 2RR and Special Operation Group Patten is involved in the operation.
“It was after a tip off about presence of militants that the area was cordoned off and a search operation began. The gunfight started when the militants were challenged,” the spokesperson said.
The militant killed has been identified as Nisar Ahmad from Aatipora, Kunzer.
According to sources one or two militants are still believed to be trapped in the area.
When reports last came in, the exchange of fire between militants and security forces was still on.
