Stray incidents of violence were reported in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab during the final and crucial phase of polling on Monday.

In a bid to disrupt polling, militants fired and lobbed grenades from hill tops in Baderwah in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district falling under Udhampur constituency. No casualty was reported in the attacks.

Alarseen owns responsibility for attacks on polling booths

A little known militant outfit 'Alarseen' claimed responsibility for the attacks on polling booths in Doda district in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency of Jammu and Kashmir today.

A spokesman identifying himself as Sadaq-ul-Islam telephoned PTI and said the outfit carried out the attacks.

A Hizbul Mujahideen spokesman identifying himself as Jauniad owned responsibility for the grenade attacks in Udhampur district during electioneering.
