Hundreds of college-goers, under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP), took out a procession from MAM College Jammu, raising slogans against Azad and Dr Abdullah.

Students of GGM Science College and SPM Rajput College of Commerce across the river Tawi also joined the protesters.

They boycotted their classwork and gathered at Jewal Chowk, blocking traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-1).

Students raised slogans and demanded death sentence for the convict in Parliament attack, which was averted at the cost of several security personnel laying down their lives.

"The ABVP in the Jammu will mobilise opposition to any political move for mercy to Guru," ABVP leader Shri Hari said.
