Delhi Police on Friday claimed that they had foiled an attempt to create panic ahead of the Diwali and Id festivals in the capital with the arrest of a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist.

Police said Parvez Ahmed Kandu, a resident of Baramullah in Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested from the Azadpur market in north Delhi and three kg of explosives and Rs 1 million were recovered from his possession.
The arrest was made on October 14 and police teams have been sent to Jammu and Kashmir to carry out more raids.
A few days ago, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was arrested and explosives were recovered.
