A Jakarta-bound aircraft made an emergency landing at the airport in Chennai on Saturday for giving immediate medical treatment to a one-year-old baby, which developed serious health problem after take-off from Abu Dhabi.

The pilots of the aircraft carrying 225 passengers obtained permission from Chennai airport authorities to make the landing, airport officials said.
The child was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital. However, the condition of the child was not immediately known.
The passengers were lodged at different hotels. The flight is expected to take-off at midnight tonight.
