Jakhar to continue varsity reforms

LAYING THE foundation stone for new administrative building of Bhoj Open University, Governor Dr Balram Jakhar reiterated on Wednesday that he was not happy with the educational atmosphere on the campuses of State universities and colleges and wished to transform it.

Warning the persons responsible for corrupting the atmosphere on the campuses, the Governor said that he would continue to have a close watch on them.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while stressing the need for employment-oriented education to students, said that colleges would not be opened at places lacking in requisite infrastructure.

Governor Dr Jakhar further said that Madhya Pradesh being the heart of India should take lead in providing excellent education to its children so as to allow them compete with students of other states.

Good education also plays a major role in development of prosperity of villages and it was his resolve not to tolerate people corrupting the educational institutions but at the same time, persons, who make fake complaints would not be pardoned either, he added.

Lauding the role of Bhoj Open University, he said concerted efforts to provide education to poor and deprived was necessary. Minister for Higher Education Tukojirao Puar and Vice Chancellor of Bhoj Open University Dr Kamlakar Singh also spoke on the occasion.
