Jalabhishek Campaign: CS writes to secretaries

DISTRICT IN-charge secretaries have been asked to compulsorily attend the district level Jalabhishek conventions to be held under the Jalabhishek Campaign from April 6 onwards. In a letter written to secretaries Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni has also directed them to coordinate and review the implementation of the campaign.

Chief Secretary in his letter has said Jalabhishek conventions were being held in every district between April 6 and 9 under the chairmanship of the district in-charge ministers with the objective of creating awareness about water conservation among rural masses and also to seek their active participation in undertaking conservation works.

The secretaries have been asked to remain present for the conventions and provide guidance. As for the points of review, Chief Secretary has said secretaries should review constitution of the district level Jalabhishek committees, the district level campaign cell and the progress of training at various levels.

The secretaries have also been urged to review whether the committees have been formed at block and village levels. They have also been urged to undertake review of implementation of the works under the campaign whenever they visit the district in their charge.
