Accumulation of snow in certain stretches of highway between Banihal-Jawahar tunnel and Jawahar tunnel-Qazigund has made the road slippery, they said, adding vehicular movement was stopped as a precautionary measure.
Traffic authorities were directed to ask vehicle owners to stop their vehicles at main station on the highway, police added.
