A jawan was killed in an "accidental" grenade blast in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, prompting the army to order a court of inquiry.

Official sources said the jawan was shifting some grenades near a forward post on Line of Control (LoC) in Gambhir Moghala belt when a grenade blew him up early on Saturday morning.

The grenade's pin went off resulting in a blast and he was killed on the spot.

The army has ordered a court of inquiry. Further details are awaited.
