JAYA BACHCHAN, who has now changed her name to Bachchan Jaya Amitabh, today announced her assets worth around Rs 37 crore. While filing nomination as Samajwadi Party candidate for the by-election to the Rajya Sabha, Jaya, in her affidavit, declared she had movable and immovable properties including cash and jewllery worth Rs 37 crore.
While she had Rs 7.67 lakh cash, deposits in banks, financial institutions and non-banking financial companies were Rs 11.41 lakh. However her bonds, debenture and shares in companies were worth Rs 3 crore and the cost of her vehicles was Rs 26. 16 lakh. She had jewellery worth Rs 3.67 crore and other assets were worth Rs 16.41 crore. While she had a plot in Film City, Noida, valued at Rs 35 lakh, she had a flat worth Rs 25 lakh in Bhopal and another in Mumbai estimated to cost Rs 13.50 crore. Interest on property was Rs 7.50 lakh.
However, her husband Amitabh Bachchan was much ahead in movable and immovable properties. With Rs 69.78 lakh cash, Bachchan’s bank deposits were Rs 3.27 crore and Rs 133 crore as bonds and debenture. While Jaya owned just two cars, Amitabh had 11 vehicles estimated to cost Rs 2.22 crore. Amitabh had also gold ornaments, silver articles, diamonds, pearls, rubies and watches worth Rs 2.91 crore. His other assets were estimated to cost Rs 29.56 crore.
