The Bhopal Municipal Corporation squad razed 24 illegal boundary walls inside this premises in a hurry following the reported directives of the Lokayukta. These directives were issued on the complaint of one Shashikant claiming to be living on the same premises.

Earlier, action against illegal boundary walls here was put off at least on two occasions due to different reasons. BMC officials, including additional commissioners K K Singh Chouhan and Abhay Bedekar, led the demolition squad.

Most of the affected residents were taken by surprise due to sudden arrival of the BMC squad. At flat No B-101, an elderly woman came out and asked the BMC officials to first take action against illegal houses all over the City before razing the boundary walls. She claimed she had purchased the house in the existing condition (with boundary wall).

While showing documents, Seema Agrawal, owner of flat No K-101, told the BMC officials that she purchased the land from Ansal Housing and Construction. Agrawal asked that one government department registered the land for her and another is removing the boundary wall.

Similarly, some other residents urged the BMC officials to stop the demolition pleading that this has been also damaging the greenery of lawns. Most of lawns covered by these boundary walls were well maintained. Couple of residents also blamed the people living on the upper floors for this demolition and even named them.

Besides labourers for manual demotion, the BMC also used JCB machines for razing the boundary walls.
