Tendering an apology to the public for making them wait under scorching sun for long period, Jayalalithaa in her campaign in this hosiery town, said "intelligence agencies and Home ministry have advised" her not to campaign during night as there was security problem.

"I am ready to sacrifice my life. But, along with me, there would be the loss of hundreds of innocent lives if terrorists attempt to strike to eliminate me," she said.

"The warning from officials and the Home ministry of the terrorist attack compelled me to campaign in the day time", she said.
