Jaya to move SC against disqualification move

Dismissing the motive behind the complaint seeking her disqualification, Jaya said it had come from Congress.

Film star-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan on Monday threatened to move the Supreme Court against her disqualification as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

"Definitely. Why not?", the Samajwadi Party MP shot back when asked whether she would challenge in the Supreme Court Election Commission's recommendation to disqualify her for holding an office of profit.

Dismissing as "political" the motive behind the complaint seeking her disqualification, she said it had come from Congress party.

She has not been informed of such decision, she said.

She quoted a verse written by her father-in-law Harivansh Rai Bachchan which meant there was a limit to saying something and limit to tolerance and added the lines were relevant now.
