"The Congress differs with Jayalalithaa on all important issues and she cannot be accepted as an ally ever. Her objective is not to contribute to the formation of a future central government but to topple the Tamil Nadu government," Chidambaram said while addressing an election meeting in Karaikudi.

"Remember AIADMK supported 'Kar Seva' (by Bharatiya Janata Party on Ayodhya issue) and Jayalalithaa openly professes friendship with the openly anti-minority Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi," Chidambaram added.

Karaikudi is 300 km south of Tamil Nadu capital Chennai.
