The Janata Dal(Secular) has joined the AIADMK-led front for the coming polls in Pondicherry and has been allotted one seat.

Announcing this, party's Pondicherry state unit president E Ganesan said that the party's nominee for the lone Kuruvinatham seat would be Navaneedha Kannan, a former official of the state-owned Co-operative Milk Producers Union.

After the new arrangement, AIADMK would contest in 16 seats, PMC in nine, MDMK and DPI in two seats each and the JD(S) in one seat.
