The Janata Dal (United) will contest five seats in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the May 8 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

An agreement to this effect was signed between BJP State President CP Radhakrishnan and JD(U) State President K Rajasekaran in Chennai on Monday.

As per the poll accord, Kurinjipadi, Sangagiri, Vedachanthur, Vaalparai and Manamadurai Assembly seats had been allocated to the JD(U).
